Are You Planning For Success?
Posted July 22nd, 2009
There seems to be a general belief that success will come along on its own. Possibly all the buzz about The Secret and Law of Attraction has lulled people into a false sense of security. No matter what your beliefs planning for success will always be useful.
The biggest hurdle the Internet presents to the Internet marketer is the fact that there is so much information available. Add to that the fact that so many people are offering quick solutions and get rich quick schemes you could end up spending a huge amount of time exploring these offers and never getting anywhere yourself.
One thing is for certain you can’t ever get that wasted time back. So be cautious how you spend it. Creating a plan for your little business could save you some time and focus your attention on the right way forward.
On your plan you will identify your niche and the keywords appropriate to the topic. You will decide on a name and its domain name and have your finances set up. Your next step is to invest time and effort in creating a presence online.
Your plan will need to determine how you will establish this presence. One very important component to presence building is creating good content for your blog on the topic of your niche.
You need to determine how many articles you will need to write a week to attract visitors. Generally you will probably need at least six articles per week when you start out. This is to create good content and to get the momentum going.
If you are not a natural writer and you spend hours trying to come up with something to write you may consider using an article writing service such as The Digital Archives to save you considerable time and trouble.
Marketing your articles will need to be on your plan. Promoting your blog is, after article writing, your second most time consuming work. You will need to learn about article marketing and spend time networking with other marketers.
As with outsourcing your article writing, it is advisable to try and automate as much as possible. There are cost-effective tools available that reduces the time it takes to submit your articles to the social media sites available to you.
There are companies that offer excellent autoresponder facilities and at a very reasonable price. Where possible investigate and search for automated help to make your marketing efforts more time and cost efficient.
Once you have identified how you will generate traffic to your site your next item on your plan needs to be the making money part.
You will need to decide what products you might wish to sell on behalf of somebody else, whether you have your own product or are able to make one, whether advertising is an option or whether you might wish to teach or consult on your niche topic.
This is where the bulk of your time and effort should be focused. This is the true business component. As with offline business, if you don’t have a product, you are not in business. Do not neglect this area of your Internet marketing. It will cost you!
