What Advantages Do Internet Marketers Have

The biggest advantage for internet marketers is that there is a very low barrier to entry. What does that mean? It means that you can pull up a computer, hook up the internet via your broadband supplier and you are ready to roll.
None of these costs are huge and in fact the use of computers and broadband are so part of our lives most of us are already set up. It doesn’t require huge space at extravagant shop front rentals and you can even start this business as a part-time activity without giving up your day-time job.
Another advantage of Internet marketing is the broad reach it has to consumers. The Web is not just nationwide – it’s worldwide. This means that your product or service can be viewed by people just about anywhere in the world. Compared to other forms of advertising, Internet marketing can reach a far larger number of people. Television and radio ads just can’t compare to a pop-up or banner ad online.
How about the money you have to put into it, you won’t have to put too much. Not only is online marketing fast and easy, it’s relatively inexpensive. Compared to other forms of promotions, it is far more affordable and cost effective.
It’s not only the basic equipment that is reasonably priced and easy to access that makes entry to the life of an internet marketer easy. It’s also the fact that so much on the internet is available for free. The internet is all about connectivity between machines and people and the sharing of free information.
It is every marketers dream to have access to such a large customer pool, to be able to target advertising exactly to where your potential customers are already searching for the product you offer, and to be able to track user statistics and what they get up to in real time.
Your website will also help you to reach your target audience. Through search engines, interested consumers can find your website and learn more about your product or service. Banner ads or pop-ups can be used to reach your target audience as well. You may want to only reach antique car enthusiasts. In this case, you can really benefit from Internet advertising by having an ad on a major website for antique car enthusiasts.
No wonder the newspaper industry is finding it difficult to sell advertising when the deliverables they promise are so hard to quantify. How many people did see your print advertising campaign or watch that very expensive television commercial?
Most advertising in the offline worlds is very expensive. Making a 30 second TV commercial can costs millions. Taking out a full page ad in a magazine or newspaper will cost hundreds of thousands in the well known publications. Putting your message on a billboard, for instance one located in Times Square New York, would be very costly.
These costs depend on many factors. For the TV commercial cameramen, actors, electricians, lighting crew, directors and producers amongst many need to be hired and of course paid. For full page ads the creative work, which could include costs for photographers, models or actors, produced by the Ad Agency needs to get paid and of course the newspaper has to be able to cover the printing costs.
These are the kinds of cost factors that are not of any great concern to the internet marketer. Space on the internet is practically free. Hosting costs for your blog and website are minimal and in some instances free. Telling people about your service can also be free.
However, having such a low barrier to entry also means that there are many people trying their hand at internet marketing. View this as an advantage though. It just means there are so many more potential customers online for you to sell a product to.
