Link building is a task that internet marketers need to take on if they wish their blog or site to acquire more traffic, receive a better PageRank and become more credible. For Google, which is the search engine that awards PageRank, part of the credibility score is how many links you have to your blogs or sites. The importance of these links is also relevant.

Use article writing to create links back to your blog. The first most obvious way of doing this is to create good content for your blog with your articles. Although this is not so easy nowadays as there is so much good content available online, there are still many blogs that receive excellent links back because of their valuable content.

Another way of using articles to create links is to write as a guest blogger for other sites. In this instance be sure to offer your guest blogging services to sites that have at least a PR03 or higher. There is little point in this work if you are writing for a blog with less PR than you have yourself. You will also not want to write for a blog unless you are able to link back to your own blog.

Use part of an article as a comment on another blog. This obviously only works if you are commenting on a blog that has topics that are similar to your own blog. You could also use your articles to comment on forums or to make a point on a social media site such as Twitter.

Submit your good content to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Mixx or StumbleUpon. Remember though that you need to be an active member by participating on these sites, making friends, supporting and encouraging your friend’s submissions and opinions in order to get any support back.

Write good articles and submit them to article directories such as Ezine Articles. You are able to link back to your blog via the resources box. Article Directories usually have a high PR and besides the traffic that this generates the link back to your blog is worth the work.

Write reviews on films, music or books. These are very popular and you might just get some links back by writing on these topics. What is particularly popular are lists. So compile your own list of top horror movies, or top ten ‘girlie’ movies maybe your list of all time great songs or your favourite authors. Lists are always popular and if you make it controversial it will create a buzz.

Conduct some interviews with people and write reports on these. If possible find some more famous people to do this with, provided of course they agree to take part. Have a weekly review and interview and you will find that this will create interest.

However you approach your link building strategy using your articles for this purpose remember that people will need to find your articles worthy of linking to. Besides good content you will need to be active in online networking so that your visibility and reputation will contribute to your article writing skills to get links back to your blog.
